Sizing a Hundred Legs: A Programme Buyer’s Guide

Compression programmes fail in a drawer, not on a production line. Almost always because nobody measured.

Take three numbers

Ankle at its narrowest, calf at its widest, floor to just below the knee.

Recorded on one sheet, per person, in under two minutes each.

Map them to blocks

The chart turns three numbers into a size block — including wide-calf and long-calf, which should exist as sizes.

Order the blocks you measured, not the blocks you hope for.

Default to everyday, escalate on advice

An everyday class as the standing line, with a firm class available for those advised into it.

Pushing everyone up a class is not generosity.

Write the replacement window in

Three to six months of daily wear, budgeted at the start.

A programme without a replacement line becomes a programme of flat garments.

Hold the file

Class, blocks, colourway and cuff marking held so reorders match and new starters get the same garment.

Consistency is what makes a programme feel like a benefit.
